FROM THE ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
Welcome to Durham College Athletics.
It is my distinct pleasure to welcome you to our Intercollegiate Programs.
Thank you for taking the time to visit our popular varsity website. Our
program is built around the simple philosophy of successfully combining
Athletics and Academics in a first class environment. This philosophy begins
with our major league calibre Athletic Department Staff, our always
supportive Faculty and of course our top rated Varsity Coaching Staff.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our extensive
Varsity world. As you tour through our website, be sure to check out the
many great areas of interest.
For over thirty-seven years the Durham College Varsity Athletic programs
have consistently recorded Provincial and National Team and Individual
success. Translated into awards this totals 176 Provincial Championship
medals over the years; (64 OCAA Gold Medals, 47 OCAA Silver Medals, and 65
OCAA Bronze Medals) thirteen (13) CCAA National Championship medals,
thirty-three (33) National Championship appearances and thirty-five (35)
CCAA All-Canadians. The winning tradition continued this past year with all
teams making the play-offs and teams recording 4 more Ontario Championships
and 6 medals total in Ontario along with 3 more National medals. Lords
student-athletes continue to set the bar academically as well with a record
twenty-seven (27) OCAA All-Academic Award winners. Simply outstanding!
With 91 Ontario League Championship medals, we now rank 3rd out of 30 member
schools, all-time in OCAA League Championship medals won. The tradition of
excellence, supported by administration, has been developed and continued -
year in and year out by the dedicated staff, first rate coaches and of
course by talented and focused student-athletes from around the province and
across Canada. Our teams are nicknamed ³LORDS² after the famous Lord Simcoe
who distinguished himself historically in this region.
If you are a high school student-athlete, we welcome you to complete and
submit the recruit section form on our site. If you are choosing your post
secondary school make Durham your #1 choice! If you have committed to
