Durham College Will Be Thinking Pink For the 21st Annual OCAA Basketball All-Star Games

Oshawa (OCAA) – On Saturday, March 29th, there will be a touch of pink at the 21st edition of the 2008 Basketball All-Star Games hosted by Durham College. The event will be themed "Think Pink" as an initiative to create awareness for breast cancer and the “Power of Pink” campaign.

Over 150 athletes from 20 colleges across Ontario will be participating in this year’s event scheduled to tip-off with the OCAA Co-Ed 2-ball competition at 3:30 pm. Players will also amaze fans from long range during the Coca-Cola 3-Point Competition set to take place at 4:30 pm. The main event will feature the All-Star games with the women’s game tipping off at 6:00 pm followed by the men’s game at 8:15 pm.

Fans will be sitting on the edge of their seats the entire day as the All-Star Committee has planned a number of special guests to entertain the crowd. There will be musical entertainment prior to each game as well as a performance from the Mighty Fanshawe Falcon Dance Pack. The best mascots from around the province will entertain fans between games as the 10th annual best mascot competition is set to take place. Fans in attendance will also have an opportunity to win up to $5,000 in the OCAA Boston Pizza Shoot for Cash Contest. Also, if 100 points or more is scored by any team during the day, every fan in attendance will win free pizza bread courtesy of Boston Pizza!

All events will be held in the new gym at the Durham College Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

All of the OCAA All-Star game coverage can be heard live on The Riot Campus Radio at www.theriotradio.com or www.durhamlords.com. For the first time in OCAA All-Star game history, the games will also be streaming online via sportslive.ca.

4:30 pm - OCAA Coca-Cola Men's & Women's 3-Point Shoot Out
6:00 pm - OCAA Women's ALL STAR GAME
7:30 pm - 10th Annual OCAA Best Mascot Contest
8:15 pm - OCAA Men's ALL STAR GAME

*Half-Time of the All-Star Games will feature the OCAA Coca Cola 3-Point Shoot Out Finals, the Boston Pizza Shoot For Cash Contest and a performance by the Mighty Fanshawe Falcon Dance Pack.
