Durham earns their second straight shutout to start 2011


OCAA Women’s Soccer: Durham defeated St. Lawrence 2-0
 
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College women’s soccer team picked up their second straight shutout to start the 2011 season as they defeated the St. Lawrence Vikings 2-0 on Friday night.

Durham earned a win over Fleming on Tuesday by the same score in their regular season opener.
 
Cobourg native Melissa Linton was in net for the shutout, stopping everything St. Lawrence had to offer. This is her second shutout of the year.
 
Two-sport athlete Kenesha Stinchcombe-Brown got the Lords on the board in the first half, as she scored her first goal of the season with assists coming from Leanne Fomenko and Heather MacDonald.
 
Shortly after their first strike, Fomenko would score the Lords second goal of the half as she also notched her first of the year. Stinchcombe-Brown and Chelsey Rogatinsky had assists on the play.
 
The Lords are 2-0-0 to start the season and will take on Algonquin College, who they are tied for first place with matching records. The game will take place on Saturday, October 1 at Vaso’s Field beginning at 1 p.m.
