Durham College advances to the CIBA Ontario Finals

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College baseball team will be returning to the CIBA Ontario Finals as they swept the St. Clair Saints in semi-final action on Saturday afternoon. The Lords won by scores of 10-0 and 14-0.
This will mark the 14th straight year the Lords have advanced to the provincial finals. The team has won five of the last six CIBA Ontario championships, including last season where they defeated Humber 2-0 in the finals.
As the regular season champions, Durham will host games one and two of the finals on Saturday, October 15 at 1/3 p.m. Their opponent will be determined on Sunday afternoon as Windsor and Humber will play in a ‘winner take all’ game three in Etobicoke.
Veteran pitchers Julian Daligadu and James Rowe were the winning pitchers against St. Clair, allowing no runs and only four hits over 11 innings.
Dan Alayon had the hot stick for Durham going 4-for-6 with seven RBI’s and a run scored. Tyler Mitchell also put up big numbers going 3-for-5 with seven RBI’s and four runs scored.
