Lords fall to Loyalist in exhibition action

OCAA Women’s Basketball: Loyalist defeated Durham 72-56 *Exhibition Game
 
OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College women’s basketball team fell short in the second half of their exhibition game against the Loyalist Lancers on Tuesday night as they were defeated by a score of 72-56.
 
The Lords took a 37-30 lead into halftime after outscoring Loyalist 25-8 in the second quarter, but the green and gold were unable to hold on to the lead allowing Loyalist to outscore them 42-19 in the second half.
 
Erin Emery led all Durham scorers with 18 points while freshman Brittany Walters had 11 in the loss. Kelsey Hare was one rebound shy of a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
 
Jenni Thompson did most of the damage for Loyalist connecting on 8-of-12 three point shots for a game high 26 points.
 
Durham will take a couple of weeks off before their next exhibition game which is scheduled for Wednesday, October 26 against Niagara College. Game time at the CRWC is at 6 p.m.
