Hare stands out at the Fleming Invitational
PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – The Durham College women’s basketball team got their season started in Peterborough this weekend as they took part in the Fleming Invitational.
Third year starter Kelsey Hare had a great tournament averaging 19.6 points in the Lords three games.
Although the Lords were unable to come up with a win, the team showed a lot of promise heading into the new season.
The Lords opened the tournament with a 59-58 loss to Fleming. Hare led the team with 20 points while Keriann Sullivan had 18.
Later in the day, Durham fell to Mohawk by a score of 60-43. Hare led the team with 20 points while Sullivan and Erin Emery had 10 points apiece.
In their final game of the tournament, Durham played the University of Waterloo Warriors. The Lords held a 24-21 lead at the half, but came up short in the third and fourth quarter losing by a scored of 66-43. Hare had 17 points while Emery and Sullivan had 13.
The Lords will be in action on Tuesday night for an exhibition game against the Loyalist Lancers. Tip-off at the CRWC is 6 p.m.
