Durham College leading after round one at Nationals
ROSENEATH, P.E.I. - The Durham College women’s golf team is leading after round one at the CCAA national championship which is being held at the Brundenell River Golf Course in Prince Edward Island.
Tiffany Albath and Kayleigh Kraemer, the defending national champions, shot a combined round one total of 165 to lead Douglas College (BC) by three strokes.
In the individual competition, Albath and Kraemer are sitting in third and sixth place respectively. Albath shot a nine-over 81 opening round while Kraemer was at 84. Defending national champion Josse Doyon of Champlain leads the way after shooting an even par 72.
On the men’s side, Durham College shot a combined total of 304, good enough for fourth place in the team competition. Durham is only one stroke behind the Camosun Chargers and Holland Hurricanes while the Humber Hawks lead the way with a total of 291.
Durham’s David Lang is in medal contention as he sits in a tie for fourth place after shooting a one-over 73. He sits five strokes behind Adrian Cord of Humber who had an opening round of 68.
Other Durham individual results include Kyle Roy (76 – T13), Sean Perkins (77 – T22), Adam Miller (78 – T29) and David Pinkerton (79 – T32).
Action will resume on Thursday morning.
