Coach Duggan at the World Championship: Canada slips back heading into the final round

ANTEQUER, Spain - Durham College golf head coach Mike Duggan is representing Team Canada at the 13th FISU world university golf championship in Antequera, Spain, from June 7 to 11, 2010 as an assistant coach.

Team Canada Report – Day Three

The Canadian men's golf team had their first set back at the FISU world university golf championship, falling to fourth place in the team standings with a three day total of 658. The team shot a third round of 227, after posting 216 and 215 respectively in the first two rounds. Korea jumped into first place with a team total of 651, followed by Taipei (652) and Japan (654).

Garrett Rank of the University of Waterloo and Mitch Evanecz of the University of Victoria are in the top ten of the individual standings sitting tied for ninth place. Rank was leading the pack after the first two rounds, but shot and 10-over 82 on Thursday.

On the women's side, team Canada also moved back in the standings, as they are in eighth place heading into the final round. The team sits with a three day total of 470, 24 strokes off the pace. Anne Balser of the University of Victoria is the top Canadian in 16th place.

The final round takes place on Friday.
