Lords drop fifth straight decision
Women’s Basketball: St. Lawrence defeated Durham 69-44
KINGSTON, Ont. – In a battle for third place in the OCAA east region, the Durham College women's basketball team dropped a 69-44 decision to the St. Lawrence Vikings on Friday night in Kingston.
“Our team had a great effort playing with an injured line-up,” said Tim Baulk, Durham College head coach. “Despite the loss, I am confident that our team will be able to bounce back and have a strong finish heading into the postseason.”
Durham has slipped to 6-5 with five consecutive conference losses. The team however remains in fourth place with a 6-5 record, with two games in hand on the fifth place George Brown Huskies.
Erin Emery (North Bay, Ont.) scored 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds in the losing effort while Laura Pacevicius was one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 13 boards. Janna Hagan (Sherwood Park, Alta.) saw significant playing time and scored seven points, three steals and two assists.
Durham’s next action is at home on Tuesday, February 8 against the Centennial Colts (0-13). Tip-off at the CRWC is at 6 p.m.
