Lords drop a big game in Kingston
Men’s Basketball: St. Lawrence defeated Durham 71-64
KINGSTON, Ont. – Durham College dropped a 71-64 decision to the St. Lawrence Vikings on Friday night in OCAA men’s basketball action.
Second place in the OCAA east region was on the line with both teams heading into the game with matching 10-4 records. The Vikes would come out on top, picking up their sixth win in seven games. The teams split the season series with one win a piece (both games were won by a seven point margin).
Courtney Small (Oshawa, Ont.) was the Lords leading scorer with 18 points and five rebounds. OCAA leading scorer Eric Smith (Ajax, Ont.) recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The third year forward has eight double-doubles this season.
The green and gold will be back in action on Tuesday night as they take on the Centennial Colts at home. Game time at the CRWC is at 8 p.m.
Canada’s top men’s basketball talent will be heading to Oshawa as Durham College is hosting the 2011 Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) national championship at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre from March 15-19, 2011.
