Durham College men’s volleyball picks up a win in exhibition action

Men’s Volleyball: Durham defeated Seneca 3-2 (18-25, 25-21, 26-24, 24-26, 16-14)

NORTH YORK, Ont. – In their first action of the 2009-10 season, the Durham College men’s volleyball team came up with a marathon win as they defeated Seneca College 3-2.

The game went the distance with the last three sets needing extra points to determine the winner. Set scores were 18-25, 25-21, 26-24, 24-26 and 16-14 in favour of the Lords.

“It was a tough opening match,” said Durham College head coach Gord Williamson. “Both teams fought hard and at least we came out of it with the win.”

Durham will play one more exhibition match on the road (10/8 @ Fleming) before opening up the regular season against the Seneca Sting at home on Thursday, October 15. First serve at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre is at 8 p.m.

The annual men’s volleyball tournament at Durham College will take place from October 23-24, featuring the top teams in the CCAA.
