Durham College golf finishes in second place at rain shortened invitational

ELMIRA, NY – The Durham College men’s golf team finished day one of the Elmira College Invitational in second place overall, and that is where they will finish as second round action was cancelled today due to rain.

The DC men’s team shot a combined score of 312 in the soaking rain at the Elmira College Country Club during Sunday’s opening round, finishing three strokes behind St. John Fisher College of Rochester, NY.

Robbie Untinen of the Lords shot an opening round score of 73 to finish in second place in the individual standings. Untinen was one of four Lords to finish in the top 20, as Don Shaw (77), Brad Hickey (80) and Rob Lewis (82) all had respectable rounds.

The Lords will take part in their final invitational tournament on Thursday, October 1 as they head to Barrie for the Georgian Invitational. The OCAA Championship is scheduled from October 5-7 in Welland at LochNess Links.
