Kayleigh Kramer wins Fanshawe Invitational
- DC Open tees off on Monday -

LONDON, Ont. – Kayleigh Kramer (Germany) of the Durham College golf team was very impressive in her collegiate debut as she shot a low round of 84 to go on and capture the individual title at the Fanshawe Invitational.

Kramer becomes the first Durham College female golfer to win an individual title since Stephanie Brown. In 2005, Brown became the first and only Durham College golfer to win the OCAA women’s individual title.

Durham College had a great day on the course with Kramer taking the women’s title, and the men’s team finishing in second place, one stroke behind the first place Niagara Knights.

Freshmen Ryan Desveaux and Don Shaw shot the low rounds for the Lords posting a pair of 77’s. Robbie Utinen and Brad Hickey were not far behind their teammates as they shot 78 in their first rounds with the Lords.

The tournament was the opening tournament of the 2009 OCAA golf season which took place at the Thames Valley golf course in London, Ont.

Ontario golfers will now turn their attention to the DC Open taking place on Monday, September 21 at Lakeridge Links. The DC Open has the reputation of attracting the top collegiate golfers from across Ontario.
