Durham College men’s soccer to play at BMO Field
OSHAWA, Ont. – With a playoff spot hanging in the balance, the Durham College men’s soccer team will be playing on a big stage on Tuesday afternoon at 5 p.m. as BMO Field will be the location of the Lords match against the George Brown Huskies.
BMO field is the first stadium in Canada that is built specifically for soccer with its’ doors opening back in 2007. It is home to the Toronto Football Club and can seat up to 20,000 people, located in Toronto at Exhibition Place.
Not only is it the home of Toronto FC, as BMO Field has also hosted a number of big events including the U-20 World Cup in the summer of 2007. The stadium saw more than 500,000 people visit it in its first year of operation.
The Lords are battling with George Brown College and Seneca College for playoff positions in the OCAA Central East Region. The Lords currently trail both teams by four points, but are well within striking distance of both the GTA teams.
