Durham plays to a scoreless draw in Peterborough

Women’s Soccer: Durham tied Fleming 0-0

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – In a complete reversal from their last game which featured nine goals, the Durham Lords women’s soccer team could not find the scoresheet on Wednesday night as they tied the Fleming Knights 0-0 in Peterborough.

Durham goalkeeper Morgan Kelly (Oshawa, Ont.) recorded her sixth shutout of the season, but it wasn’t enough for the three points as the Lords were shutout for the first time this season. The last time Durham was left off the scoresheet was in last year’s bronze medal final at the OCAA Championship.

The Lords are now 6-1-1 on the year and will most likely have to win their final three games of the season to win the Central East region title and earn a home playoff game in the quarter-finals. Fleming remains undefeated this season with a 6-0-2 record.

Durham’s next action will be at Loyalist College on Tuesday, October 13 for a match against the Lancers. Game time is 4:30 p.m. Two days later (Thursday, October 15), the Lords will take on the Central East leading Seneca Sting in North York, to make up for last week’s cancelled game. Game time against Seneca is at 6 p.m.
