Durham and Seneca play to a 3-3 draw – Central East title up for grabs
Men’s Soccer: Durham tied Seneca 3-3
OSHAWA, Ont. – On a rain soaked Vaso’s Field on Sunday afternoon, the Durham College men’s soccer team managed to pull out a 3-3 draw against Seneca College.
With a tie, the Lords are right in the middle of the playoff hunt with four games remaining in the regular season. Durham is 4-1-2 on the year, trailing Seneca by two points who are at a 5-1-1. George Brown is leading the region with a 6-1-1 record, but both Seneca and Durham have a game in hand. Durham has tied George Brown and Seneca 3-3 in both meetings this year.
The three teams will be battling it out down the stretch, as they have four matches against one another to close out the regular season.
In Sunday’s match, freshman Sebastian Dignoti (Whitby, Ont.) scored two goals for Durham, bringing his season total to eight. Dignoti has been clutch against George Brown and Seneca this year scoring five goals in two games.
Agya Oppong-Kyekyeku (Etobicoke, Ont.) scored the Lords other goal, his fifth of the season.
Durham will now travel to Peterborough on Wednesday, October 7 for a match against the Fleming Knights (4-3-0). Game time is at 8 p.m.
