SUDBURY, Ont. –
The Durham College women's soccer team broke two records in their 5-0 regular season finale win over Cambrian College in Sudbury.

Katie Watts ( Oshawa , Ont.) netted a hat trick in the finale, bringing her total to 38 career goals, passing former teammate Brittany Micucci for the Durham College all-time scoring record. Micucci broke the record just last season, who also scored a hat trick in her record breaking performance.

Watts moves into second position in the OCAA all-time leading scoring race, led by OCAA Hall of Famer Joanna Vitale of Humber College , who scored 56 goals in four years with the Hawks. Watts scored 18 goals this season, winning the league scoring championship averaging 1.64 goals per game. This is the second straight year Watts has won the scoring title.

The OCAA League Scoring Champion has now worn the Green and Gold for the past four seasons as Jana Cryderman took home top honours in 2005, Brittany Micucci in 2006, Katie Szeghalmi in 2007 and Katie Watts in 2008 and 2009.

The Lords also broke the all-time single season scoring record on Saturday with 59 goals scored this season. The Lords surpassed the 2003 Durham College women's soccer team, who netted a record breaking 54 goals enroute to an OCAA gold medal run.

With the win over Cambrian, Durham clinches the Central East Region title and will host a quarterfinal match-up on Tuesday October 20, 2009 at 5 p.m. , where the Lords will take on the Conestoga Condors at Vaso's Field. The Condors finished second in the West Region with a 4-3-3 record.

The OCAA Championship will take place from October 22-24 at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan, Ont.
