Durham College basketball all-stars set to shine
NORTH BAY, Ont. – Durham College basketball all-stars will be showing off their skills this weekend as Fleming College hosts the 23rd annual OCAA Basketball All-Star Game on Saturday, March 27, 2010 in Peterborough, Ont.
Eric Smith (Ajax, Ont.) and Erin Emery (North Bay, Ont.) will be representing Durham College in the men’s and women’s all-star games after having a great year with their respective programs.
Also representing the Lords at the event will be Tyler McGarrity (Ajax, Ont.) who will be competing in the 3-point. Emery will be taking part in the women’s three point shootout.
Over 50 athletes will be representing 21 Ontario Colleges at this event on Saturday.
The women’s game is slated for 4 p.m., with the men’s following at 6 p.m. The men’s and women’s 3-point shootout competition will be taking place a 2:15 p.m. with the final for both being completed during half-time of each game. Both games will take place at the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre.
The event has grown over the years to become a must-see event for hoop fans across Ontario. Durham College has hosted the event a record 12 times and this is the first time in five years that the Lords have not hosted the event.
