Great start to 2010 for the DC men’s volleyball team at the Fleming Invitational

Fleming Invitational Round Robin
Durham defeated Canadore 3-0
Durham Defeated Sheridan 3-0

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – It was a great start to 2010 for the Durham College men’s volleyball team as they opened up round robin play at the Fleming Invitational with a pair of 3-0 victories.

Durham entered the tournament as the defending invitational champions and they look to be the favourites to win it all once again as they sailed to a pair of straight set victories on day one.
 
The Lords opened up the tournament with a 3-0 victory over the Canadore Panthers. Set scores were 25-18 , 25-11 and 25-17. In a rematch of last year’s championship final, the Lords defeated Sheridan 3-0 by set scores of 25-21, 27-25 and 26-24.

Durham will wrap up round robin action against St. Clair College on Saturday morning and will look to advance to the tournament finals for the second consecutive year.

The Lords have been red hot heading into the new year winning seven straight conference games to close out 2009, to sit in second place with a 7-2 record.
