Lords complete the Sudbury sweep

Men’s Volleyball: Durham defeated Cambrian 3-0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-12)

OSHAWA, Ont. – The Durham College men’s volleyball team picked up their ninth win in ten matches on Sunday as they swept the Cambrian Golden Shield 3-0 at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre. Set scores in the match were 25-19, 25-22 and 25-12.

Durham won six straight sets over the weekend as they defeated the Boreal Viperes 3-0 on Saturday.

The Lords offence was spread out on Sunday as four players recorded eight points or more. Steve Clarey (Baltimore, Ont.) was the games top scorer with 11 points. The second year starter had a great game on both offence and defence as he had seven kills, three aces and one block to go along with eight digs.

James Mayer (Pentanguishene, Ont.), Matt Mahorn (Whitby, Ont.) and Jeff Torraville (Oshawa, Ont.) had eight points apiece.
 
Ben Cambridge had a team high 10 point performance for the Golden Shield, recording eight kills and two blocks in the losing effort.

Durham moves up two spots in the standings into third place with a 9-3 record. The Lords are tied with Trent (9-4) and Loyalist (9-3) who all have 18 points this season. The Lords will travel to Trent on Wednesday, January 27 in Peterborough, Ont. for their next action.
