Durham College Athletics is Back on Rogers TV
- Soccer Home Openers Kick-Off the 2008-09 Schedule -
Oshawa, Ont. – Sports fans in the Durham Region will now have opportunity to see the Durham Lords throughout the 2008/09 season on television as the Durham College Athletic Department and Rogers TV have agreed to broadcast over 30 events this year, covering a wide variety of sports.
“We are very excited to have Durham College Athletics back on Rogers TV for the upcoming season. Their involvement with our program along with the community the community speaks volumes of their commitment to amateur athletics in the Durham Region,” commented Durham College Athletic Director Ken Babcock. “With over 30 events airing on the network this year, it will give us a great opportunity to showcase our amazing campus and the quality of programs we have to offer.”
The 2008/09 broadcast schedule will feature men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball and men’s and women’s volleyball. The network will also show complete coverage of the 2009 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Volleyball Championships as well as the 2009 OCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball All-Star Games, both proudly hosted by Durham College. The regular season games will consistently air on Saturday’s at 2 p.m. and again in primetime at 8 p.m.
Rogers TV will open the season up with the Lords men’s and women’s soccer home opener played this past Saturday at Vaso’s Field. It will be a breakthrough airing as Saturday's televised games will be the first soccer games on campus ever televised in Durham College history.
