Durham defeats Loyalist in a Friendly
Men's Soccer: Durham defeated Loyalist 2-0 – Exhibition Match
Oshawa, Ont. – Durham Lords head coach Stan Bombino had an opportunity to watch some of his reserves play on Tuesday night as the Lords took on the Loyalist Lancers in an exhibition game. Although the majority of the team was made up of freshmen, it was the fourth year veteran Jason Walker who scored a two goals to lead Durham to a 2-0 win.
With the Lords playing Centennial the night before, Bombino decided to rest many of his starters heading towards the team’s final game against Fleming College on Wednesday, October 15 (8 p.m. kickoff at Vaso’s Field).
It will be an important match for Durham if they hope to make it to the playoffs as Seneca earned a 2-2 draw against George Brown tonight, moving them one point ahead of the Lords in the standings. Both teams having one game remaining in the regular season and Durham must finish ahead or tied with Seneca in order to qualify for the postseason.
