Day One of the DC Killer Instinct Cup is in the Books

Oshawa, Ont. –
Day one of the Durham College Killer Instinct Cup men’s volleyball tournament wrapped up on Friday evening, with the top collegiate volleyball teams in Ontario competing for the tournament title.

In Pool A action, Humber and Mohawk sit atop of the standings with matching 2-0 records while Durham and Cambrian are at 0-2. Durham put up a good fight in both of their matches but fell short losing to Humber 3-2 and Mohawk 3-1. The Hawks and Mountaineers will meet tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. for a trip to the tournament final on the line.

Seneca and Niagara are in first place in Pool B standings and will square off at 9 a.m. for the right to play in the tournament final. Both teams defeated Loyalist and Sheridan in day one round robin action to put themselves in position to advance to the finals with a win on Saturday.

For the first time in tournament history, teams are competing in best three-of-five matches. Action will begin on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with the tournament finals scheduled for 5 p.m.
