DC Set to Host 2008 Killer Instinct Cup

Oshawa, Ont. – Durham College is set to host the 2008 Killer Instinct Cup men’s volleyball tournament scheduled for October 24-25, 2008 at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

The two-day tournament will feature eight of the top teams in Ontario. The field will be split into two pools with Pool A consisting of Humber College (Etobicoke, Ont.), Mohawk College (Hamilton, Ont.), Cambrian College (Sudbury, Ont.) and the hosts, Durham College (Oshawa, Ont.). Pool B will be made up of Niagara College (Welland, Ont.), Sheridan College (Oakville, Ont.), Loyalist College (Belleville, Ont.) and Seneca College (North York, Ont.).

Eight games will take place throughout the afternoon on Friday starting at 1 p.m. as the teams begin pool play, which will extend into day two action which begins at 9 a.m. The teams will crossover into playoffs, with championship final scheduled for 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Mohawk will enter the tournament as the defending champions as they defeated Humber 25-18, 25-16 in the finals last year. Mohawk is also the defending OCAA Champions.

4A vs. 4B - 7th Place
3A vs. 3B – 5th Place

3 p.m.
2A vs. 2B - 3rd Place

5 p.m.
1A vs. 1B - Championships Finals
