DC Wins a Triple OT Thriller in Sudbury

Men’s Basketball: Durham defeated Cambrian 90-87 (3OT)

Sudbury, Ont. -
The Durham College men’s basketball team managed to come out in a marathon game against the Cambrian College Friday night as they defeated the Golden Shield 90-87 in triple overtime.

The Lords move into second place in the East Region standings with a 3-1 conference record while Cambrian falls to 1-2 on the year.

Courtney Small (Oshawa, Ont.) led Durham in scoring with 26 points on the night while freshman Eric Smith (Ajax, Ont.) netted 20 points. Anthony Batchelor (Markham, Ont.) contributed with 18 points in the win. Leading all scorers was Brady Boland with 37 points for the Golden Shield.

Durham has looked good under the new leadership of head coach Desmond Rowley in the opening games of the season. They will look to continue their success on the road as this was their first of five games away from home. The team will now head to George Brown College on Wednesday, November 12 for a match against the Huskies (3-1).

Durham will return to the CRWC on Tuesday, December 2 against St. Lawrence College for an 8 p.m. tip-off.
