Lords continue to roll with a 3-1 win over Fleming College

Women’s Volleyball: Durham defeated Fleming 3-1 (25-21, 25-14, 24-26, 25-19)

Oshawa, Ont. – The Durham College women’s volleyball team earned it’s fourth straight conference win on Tuesday night as they defeated Fleming College 3-1 at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

The big win levels the Lords conference record at 4-4 and puts them in a tie for fourth spot in the OCAA East Region standings. Fleming remains winless on the season with a 0-8 record.

The “big three” led the Lords on the scoresheet once again as Amanda Falzon (Whitby, Ont.), Kristen Conner (Oshawa, Ont.) and Mandi Doris (Ajax, Ont.) all had impressive performances.

Doris led all scorers on the night with 13 points, including four blocks. This brings her career total to 105 blocks, as she is now five away from entering the top five in the OCAA record books. Doris also leads the East Region with 30 blocks on the season. Conner and Falzon both had 11 points on the night as they continue their exceptional seasons.

Durham will look to close out 2008 with six straight wins as they head to Sudbury for a weekend road trip. The Lords will take on Cambrian College (4-4) on Friday evening and then match up against the Boreal Viperes (1-6) on Saturday afternoon.

The Lords would like to also thank everyone who contributed to the Volleyball food drive throughout the month of November.
