Lords Women’s Basketball Thinking Pink this Friday

Oshawa, Ont. – The Durham College women's basketball teams will have two goals going into their game against Georgian College on Friday night. Number one: pick up a win. Number two: help raise funds and awareness for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Friday's match up against the Georgian Grizzlies will mark the Lords women’s basketball first annual "THINK PINK" initiative, which will donate proceeds from the evening's games towards the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Fans in attendance on Friday night will be able to purchase special pink t-shirts, with all proceeds going to the worthy cause. The t-shirts will also be continued to be sold throughout the season and up until the OCAA Basketball All-Star game that is scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at Durham College.

“We are very proud to be helping out with such a worthy cause,” commented women’s basketball head coach Tim Baulk. "This is something that affects so many of our lives and the program is more than happy to contribute any way we can."

If you would like to support the Durham Lords raise money for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation; shirts will be available for a cost of $15 and will be sold at Friday night's game.

Game time for the women’s game will be at 6 p.m. followed by the men’s game at 8 p.m.
