Lords get back to their winning ways
Men’s Basketball: Durham defeated La Cite 93-60
Oshawa, Ont. – The Durham College men’s basketball team was able to rebound following a loss earlier in the week, as they defeated the La Cite Coyotes 93-60 on Friday night.
With four three-pointers on the night, Evan Browne (Grass Lake, MI) now has 80 in his career, putting him second all-time in the DC record books. Browne trails teammate Anthony Batchelor (Markham, Ont.), who has 142 in his five years with the green and gold. He is also tenth all-time in Durham College scoring with 584 career points, trailing current assistant coach Matt Markovic by just 15 points.
The Lords led from start to finish against the Coyotes as they cruised to the 33 point win. With a conference record of 13-4, the team has clinched a home playoff match with still three games remaining in the regular season.
Durham will have two home games this week as they take on the Centennial Colts (5-13) on Tuesday, February 10 and the Fleming Knights (14-3) on Friday, February 13. Both game tip-off at 8 p.m. at the CRWC.
